Holy goodness! I finally finished Andy! It was an epic process. He was very much a stubborn boy at first, but then he cooperated. But for some reason, my colored pencils kept ending up being hidden under my reference pictures of Patrick, Pete, Joe, and William Beckett. It might have been a mistake to have those boys sitting next to me, I realize now.

Anyway, This took so many various browns! Omigoodness! I used 6 different browns for his hair. I have no idea how long this took, but trust when I say FOREVER, so it seemed.

This is, I guess, my third true attempt ever at realism in colored pencil. It's a fun medium to work with, however lengthy and painstaking. Seriously. You have to know exactly which colors to use to get the shades right, you can't smudge to shade, and every pencil mark you make is permanent (unless you've got some magical eraser I don't know about).
